Avalon International Airport

JJA were engaged as the primary services consultant for the total project responsible for liaising all Australian federal government authorities for strict compliance with all stringent international airport regulatory requirements. The total project from start of the design phase to construction completion in Dec 2018 was affected within 8 months to meet an extremely ambitious time schedule. The new terminal consists of all passenger security screening, passport control, federal customs, departure lounge for 500+ PAX, dedicated administration offices for federal airport staff, duty free retail and café with a commercial kitchen.

JJA were also given the responsibility to manage all the services sub-contractors to meet this nearly impossible completion deadline. The total project was completed with 2 days to spare.

Avalon Domestic Terminal

Avalon Airport's domestic terminal building's growth has been extraordinary since its inception in 2005. Initially built to accommodate Jetstar Airways, Avalon started with a passenger capacity of 200,000 Pa and we are currently in the process of increasing this capacity to 3,000,000 passengers Pa.

JJA were involved with all the services from the start including more recent significant upgrade of the total services infrastructure with high voltage & low voltage power reticulation, waste treatment, emergency generator system, fire services, high pressure gas reticulation, apron & car park lighting system, total access control & CCTV security system to comply with CASA requirements, etc.

The current expansion is to accommodate 2+ carriers with multiple plane arrivals and departures simultaneously.

Linfox Maintenance Facility - Laverton

The building is dedicated for carrying out maintenance, repairs and major overhauling of trucks. The building consists of 2 bays with service pits, 5 general maintenance service bays to accommodate double B trucks, parts storage, detailing bay, automatic truck wash and a 600 m2 office area for administration staff.

JJA was responsible for the services design of the total project including a rainwater harvesting system that not only flushed toilets, but provided water to the truck wash system. The truck was water was also recycled with a sophisticated filtration system.

Philip Island Race Track

Philip Island Race Track’s old septic pit waste system was totally upgraded in order to accommodate the increasing number of events and motor racing fans to the venue.  The total waste system was now required to be connected to the street sewer main.  The design consisted of three (3) heavy duty, high capacity waste pumps and nearly 1.5km of high pressure underground piping.

Port of Sale - Maria Re-Development

A long overdue upgrade to the Port of Sale marina consisted of significant re-modelling of the area with new park areas, public amenities, moorings and a complete lighting upgrade to create a subdued and inviting atmosphere for the public.

Buchan Caves

The existing electrical & lighting system serving the Visitor Centre, Royal & Fairy Caves were unacceptably substandard and required to be upgraded.  JJA was commissioned to carry out a thorough and comprehensive proposal to upgrade the electrical, lighting & emergency lighting systems in a very difficult and harsh environment.

This project was the National Category winner of 2009 NECA Awards by the installation contractor;  A-Phase Electrical.
